Monika Auger is a senior multimedia reporter at The Wall Street Journal, where she leads the production of daily science, technology and trending topic news for the San Francisco bureau.

Prior to The Wall Street Journal, Monika was a TV reporter for Germany's international broadcaster Deutsche Welle, where she traveled through Europe covering stories on contemporary arts and culture. 

She is the winner of the 2011 Fred M. Hechinger Journalism Education Award for a radio documentary about single-gender public education in the U.S, and a Pulitzer Prize finalist for work on a Wall Street Journal multimedia project on Europe’s economic crisis.

Monika earned her Masters degree in broadcast journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in 2011.
